Timanfaya National Park Tickets and Opening Hours
Timanfaya tickets: €30 for an adult at Montañas del Fuego, children under seven free, 09:00-15:45 with a fixed time slot (CACT, October 2026). What the ticket covers and when a tour is better.
A ticket for Montañas del Fuego, the visitor site in Timanfaya National Park, costs €30 for an adult, with children under seven free, as listed by CACT Lanzarote (the island’s Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo) in October 2026. It is sold for a fixed date and time, the site opens from 09:00 to 15:45 every day, and the visit takes about 90 minutes.

What the €30 ticket covers
CACT lists four things on its Ruta de los Volcanes ticket: the 35-minute coach route through the park, the geothermal demonstrations, access to Islote de Hilario and the viewpoint over the volcanic landscape. The coaches leave from Islote de Hilario every 20 minutes or so with recorded commentary. CACT also sells a smaller guided visit, the Insólita Experience, with access the general ticket does not include.
It does not cover the camel ride at the foot of the volcanoes, which is a separate business paid on the spot, or lunch at the El Diablo restaurant.
Time slots and turning up
Montañas del Fuego and Jameos del Agua are the two CACT sites that now sell tickets online with a fixed date and time. CACT asks you to be at the ticket office 15 minutes before your slot, says there is nowhere to wait if you arrive too early, and warns that a ticket used outside its slot is no longer valid, with no changes or refunds. So the old habit of driving up and queuing at the gate is the risky option in busy months.

The ticket on its own is the cheapest way in if you have a car and book your slot. The express tours cost about twice as much and buy you two things: a guide on the coach and no queue at the park entrance, where the road in can back up in high season. If you have no car, a half day with pickup costs about the same as the express tours and saves the drive.

The other CACT sites
CACT runs seven sites on the island, from Jameos del Agua to the Mirador del Río. Jameos del Agua is from €17, open 10:00 to 18:00. If you plan to see several, compare a full-day tour that includes the entries with buying them one by one: Low Cost Tours Europe’s Timanfaya, Jameos and Cueva day includes three of them. The on-your-own guide covers parking and driving, and the worth-it guide how much time to give it.

Timanfaya Without the Queue at the Gate
Canary Trip Booking's express tour leaves from the Plaza de la Alameda in Yaiza, where you can park, and takes you into Timanfaya by bus with an official guide, entrance included, in at most two and a half hours. Rated 4.6, from US$64 a person as of October 2026, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
